Self-Designed Patterned Glass
With the new glue chipping procedure, glass surfaces can be individually designed using a special adhesive and UV technology.
Glass products with special designs can be manufactured from patterned glass. Technical glass refiners, who do not always want to rely on industrial glass with standardised structures and patterns in their work, now have completely new, very individual design options available using glue chipping technology. The procedure to manufacture patterned glass was developed by Steinbach-based Panacol-Elosol GmbH in Hessen, the adhesive specialists of the Hönle Group, and presented to the professional world in 2009. Originally developed for the use of animal hide glue (bone glue), glue chipping was only used in industry in the past, due to its laborious technology. The newly developed UV adhesive QuickChip88 by Panacol now opens up the versatile use of the design technology on a technical level. The ready-to-use and odour-free UV-hardening single-component adhesive can be used very easily and very effectively, on account of its rapid reaction time.
